Union, society and environment
Learn about our code of conduct.

Consumers are increasingly attentive to sustainability and social responsibility, valuing companies committed to the environment and people's well-being. With this in mind, Union Trading created Union Green Planet, an independent program and seal that encourages more sustainable practices in the coffee sector, supporting producers and suppliers in building a more conscious future.

The Project

The Union Green Planet program's Code of Conduct establishes clear and structured guidelines for promoting sustainability, based on three essential pillars: Economic, Social, and Environmental.

The program encourages partner producers to adopt continuous improvement practices, promoting the constant evolution of their production and management processes. Through this approach, it seeks to develop more efficient and responsible agricultural techniques, improve working conditions, and strengthen farm management.

As a result, participants increase their productivity, improve the quality of their coffee, and consolidate a more competitive and sustainable market presence, aligned with global best practices and principles of social and environmental responsibility.

How to participate

Producers who choose to join the Union Green Planet program will initially be recognized as Participating Members, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability principles and the continuous improvement of their processes in the coffee sector.

At a later stage, those wishing to advance in the program may seek certification. This will involve an audit conducted by an independent certifying body to ensure compliance with the criteria established by the program's Code of Conduct.

Once approved, the producer becomes recognized as a Union Green Planet Certified Member, receiving a seal that certifies that their coffee is produced according to sustainable and responsible practices, as well as guaranteeing traceability throughout the entire production chain.

In this way, the program establishes a structured path for development, encouraging continuous improvement and promoting the recognition of producers committed to sustainability and excellence in the coffee market.

Café Mundi Project

The Café Mundi project aims to promote rural sanitation and clean energy generation by replacing septic tanks with FORTLEV biodigesters.

In its first phase, the initiative covers 10 rural properties in the municipality of Albertina, Minas Gerais, expanding its reach to 6 more families in the second phase of the project.

In addition to implementing the technology, the project includes the donation and installation of biodigesters, as well as training for beneficiary families on the proper use and maintenance of the system. The proposal also encourages the use of biogas as an energy source and biofertilizer as an agricultural input, promoting environmental, social, and productive gains.

With this approach, Café Mundi contributes to improving the quality of life in rural areas, strengthening sustainability, and promoting the adoption of more responsible practices in agricultural production.
